SOLUTIONS / BIOLOGICAL APPLICATIONSBAUS ENVIRONMENTAL

Biological solutions for demanding wastewater.

We design bioaugmentation programmes to address FOG deposits, odours, hydrogen sulfide and organic sludge. We select the appropriate application format, organise dosing and define how the outcome will be evaluated.

Four challenges

  1. 01Fats, oils & greaseTargeted biological breakdown of fats, with the aim of limiting reaccumulation and emergency cleaning.Explore
  2. 02Odour controlBiological intervention aimed at limiting the formation of odorous compounds in networks and treatment facilities.Explore
  3. 03Hydrogen sulfide managementTargeted programmes aimed at limiting H₂S production, with monitoring at critical infrastructure points.Explore

DEFINITION

What does bioaugmentation involve?

The application uses selected microorganisms together with suitable micronutrients and, depending on the formulation, biostimulants. The programme connects the biological objective with the application format, dosing location and actual system conditions.

APPLICATION SETTINGS

Where is each application assessed?

Application settings explain who and where the assessment concerns, while the solutions remain organised around the operational problem.

APPLICATION FORMATS / A—D

The same challenge may require a different application format.

Three physical formats — powder, liquid and slow-release solid — support programmes with different scales and dosing frequencies.

APowder for targeted application
A bacterial formulation with micronutrients for small and medium applications focused on FOG. Preparation and direct or pre-hydrated application follow the technical protocol.
BConcentrated powder for larger flows
A higher-concentration option for large networks, treatment facilities and lagoons. It is considered where product quantities, storage and handling requirements are important.
CReady-to-use liquid with controlled dosing
A liquid bacterial formulation for delivery through a dosing pump. Quantity and frequency are set according to the treatment programme and system requirements.
DSlow-release solid
A suspended solid formulation that releases microorganisms and micronutrients as it dissolves. It is selected for suitable local sites, with checks on placement and dissolution rate; it is not equivalent to a constant-rate dosing pump.

More than a material. An application programme.

The proposal combines infrastructure assessment, selection of an appropriate biological approach, dosing design, operating guidance and performance monitoring. The roles of BAUS, the operator and specialist technical support are agreed for each project.

These descriptions set out treatment objectives and application methods. Suitability, dosage, duration and success criteria are defined for the specific project.

Let’s identify the right application.
